Last April 10, we dropped by the Greenbelt Park to celebrate TOMS’ One Day Without Shoes! We walked around the mall barefoot…
…learned about the hazards of living without shoes (a reality for millions of children worldwide)…
…hung out with TOMS Philippines head honcho Dimples Balaguer-La’O…
…and the Balaguer family! Incidentally, Dimples and her brother Anthony (far left) were my childhood playmates, so it was such a cool impromptu reunion!
We also spotted TOMS’ Lauren de la Cruz (sorry it was dark!)…
…and our buddy Rovilson Fernandez—here he is showing off his bare feet (sorry it was suuuper dark!)
Did you know that for every pair of TOMS that you buy, TOMS donates a pair of shoes to a child in need? In the Philippines, the kind souls at WE International and LBC Foundation help facilitate the distribution of shoes. Hello Misses! What are you doing tomorrow? Wanna have fun and make a difference? Drop by TOMS’ One Day Without Shoes event at the Greenbelt 3 park! In case you didn’t know, TOMS has a One-For-One Movement, in which for every purchase of a pair of TOMS anywhere in the world, the company donates a pair of shoes to a child. Says TOMS Philippines, “This year, One Day Without Shoes hits closer to home as the Philippines is now a beneficiary country and thousands and thousands of children across the nation have already received shoes. By having your support, we hope to encourage greater awareness of our cause and even more giving!”
Here’s the sched of events tomorrow:
3:00-5:00pm — Registration
5:00pm — One Day Without Shoes Walk
6:30pm — Short film screening (Giving in the Philippines)
7:00-8:00pm — Mini concert with our musical guests, Kai Honasan and Your Imaginary Friends
